Northumberland’s Lucy Bronze has been named in England’s starting eleven for tonight’s World Cup semi-final against Japan.
The 23-year-old from Alnwick has played a crucial role in the nation’s campaign, scoring two goals in the knock-out stage. The first was a screamer against Norway in the last-16, followed by a header in the quarter-final victory over hosts Canada.
The Manchester City defender admits that reigning champions Japan will provide a tough test, but insists England are not scared of their opponents.
England have made one change from the side which started against Canada, with Toni Duggan replacing Karen Carney.
