The people standing further up the street are outside Crozier’s newsagent. John James Crozier was born on January 13, 1887, at Willington Quay, to parents John Joseph and Elizabeth Crozier. Although his news agency was at 4 Rosehill Road, the family actually lived at 25 Palmers Terrace, Willington Quay.
The area seems to have been scheduled for demolition before the Second World War, but Mr Crozier was still there in 1956. In 1963 Wallsend Council had the street closed to allow the extension of Commercial Plastics. Mr Crozier died in 1964.
