LESS CLEANING FOR BOULMER TOILETS

The parish council has agreed to Boulmer’s public toilets being cleaned less often in the winter to help the county council reduce costs. Councillors wanted the facilities open all year and felt fewer cleans would be preferable to closure.

DOG FOULING IS STILL CAUSING A STINK

Coun Phillips said bags of dog poo are constantly being left near the woods at Seaview because of a lack of bin. However, the council heard that while a request can be made for a bin it might not get emptied by the county council.

MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

More volunteers are needed to help run Westfield Park, the parish council heard. Paul Kiddell, from Longhoughton Village Development Trust, gave an update on the facility and said a recruitment drive is needed for people to help with all aspects of the community centre. He added that more trustees are also needed. The site, including 3G pitches, costs £20,000 a year to run.
