The Alnmouth Local History Group, which was founded in 2002 by the late Fred Bettess, is holding its 10th coffee morning and exhibition this weekend.
Fred, a former chairman of Alnmouth Parish Council and well-known local historian, built up a large collection of historical items and artefacts, including more than 350 postcards.
On his death in 2013, the items, now called The Bettess Collection, were bequeathed by his family to the group.
Many will be on display at the exhibition, which will include information about William Dickson, Alnmouth’s first local historian, and details about crime in Alnmouth and marriages over the years.
It takes place in the Hindmarsh Hall on Saturday from 10am to noon. Admission by donation.
