Local heroes have been honoured for the contribution they’ve made to their local communities.
The dedicated residents were recognised as part of the county-wide awards scheme, Northumberland Local Heroes, which highlights the good work done by individuals and groups.
Coun Liz Simpson, from Northumberland County Council, presented awards to a number of people – with many coming from Amble – following nominations.
They included Katrina Cassidy and Andrea Hewitson, of Amble Community Team, which is a group of volunteers working to improve the town’s Welfare area.
Amble Lifeboat Fund-raisers, represented by vice-chairman Eleanor Cassidy, received an award for raising money for RNLI Amble.
Tommy Boswell, from Funworld Leisure, was honoured for the support his business gives to local events.
Also recognised was Rob Angus for his willingness to volunteer to help out with community activities.
Andrew Griffin, of Shilbottle, was awarded for his work with Action on Hearing Loss and successfully campaigning to gain free lip-reading classes across the county.
