LIGHTS: So grateful for donations

Now Christmas has gone, the lights and decorations switched off, I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the people of Alnwick, and those from further afield, for their wonderful support of my Christmas lights display.

I really enjoy Christmas, as those who have seen my display must realise, and I hoped that others would enjoy my lights too, and maybe have a smile because of them, but I had no idea just how much people liked them until the bit of bother when they were vandalised.

I was totally overwhelmed by the level of support, the number of messages, cards, letters, gifts and offers of help.

I have met so many kind people, many total strangers calling, and then there was the fund-raising campaign started by another stranger, who I now feel is a friend.

I hope people have seen that all the donations (about which I was really embarrassed and certainly did not expect) have already been spent on new decorations.

I want everyone to know how grateful I am for their kindness, generosity and support. It has all made me feel a part of this wonderful town and county and made me determined to continue.

I feel thank you is insufficient, but cannot find other words, so thank you it is.
