CHRISTMAS lights will soon illuminate towns and villages in north Northumberland.
Amble will get into the festive spirit on Sunday, November 20. The grand switch-on of its annual lights display takes place on Queen Street and includes a parade starting at The Wellwood at 5pm.
Seahouses will then be lit up for the festive season on Thursday, November 24. There will be carols on Main Street at 6pm followed by the switch-on at 6.30pm.
Alnwick hosts its switch-on in the Market Place on Friday, November 25. The illuminations will be switched on at 7pm but festive entertainment will begin at 6.15pm. There will also be a visit from Santa Claus.
Father Christmas will also appear at the switch-on of the lights at Alnmouth, when the village will be lit up on Saturday, November 26, at 4.30pm outside the Hindmarsh Hall.
Bamburgh will host its celebrations on the same day, with a Christmas service at St Aidan’s Church at 5.30pm, followed by the switch-on at The Grove at 6.30pm.
Warkworth will not host a Christmas lights switch-on ceremony this year but the lights will come on in time for the late night Christmas shopping evening on November 25.
