A FUND-RAISING event in aid of the RNLI takes place later this month.

The family-fun Amble Lifeboat Station Harbour Day is being held on Sunday, August 28, from 10am.

It will feature stalls including adult and junior tombola, books, bric-a-brac, water or wine, toys and children’s rides.

There will also be representatives from the Fire Service, Inshore Fishery Conservation Agency, and new attractions including paintballing, displays by the Sea Cadets and taster sessions with Coquet Shorebase Trust and Northside Surf (wet suit recommended) giving people the opportunity to try canoeing and surfing.

The highlight of the day will be the exercise in the harbour involving both of the Amble lifeboats and the Sea King from RAF Boulmer.
