Lifeboat crew help paramedics reach Holy Island after callout to ill patient

A patient and paramedics were transported from Holy Island by a lifeboat during a high tide alert.

RNLI Berwick upon Tweed Lifeboats launched its all-weather boat to help the North East Ambulance Service yesterday, Wednesday, February 10.

A spokesperson for the volunteer team said: “The ambulance staff, assisted by Berwick lifeboat crew and Holy Island coastguard, then brought the casualty back to Berwick Upon Tweed onboard our Lifeboat to the awaiting ambulance.
