Amble’s all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched this morning to assist a yacht in difficulty off Boulmer.
The yacht had picked up a rope around its propeller and was drifting. A crew member was put aboard the yacht and he managed to cut the rope free.
With no damage, the yacht, with two people on board, was able to carry on its journey north and the lifeboats returned to station.
Humber Coastguard co-ordinated the incident.
