Life in the old district is captured on film

Winners of a photography competition have been presented with their prizes.

The Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery Open Documentary Photographic Competition prizegiving took place last month with Kevin Temple taking both first and third place and Gertrude Allen in second.

The theme of the competition was Northumberland Events 2014-15 and 30 photos were chosen and exhibited in the Bailiffgate Museum from November 17 to February 7.

They depicted events which took place in the old Alnwick District, capturing the essence of the people who participated and the rich diversity of events that take place throughout the year.

Kevin’s first place photograph “With a Little Help from a Friend”, from Alnwick International Music Festival, also won first place in the public vote and he was presented with a cup. His third place picture was “Crowd on the Peth” taken at the Shrove Tuesday football match.

Gertrude Allen’s second place picture “Crossing the Icy Cold River Aln the Hard Way” was also taken at the Shrove Tuesday match.
