Learn about beach's fascinating geology

This coming Tuesday, there is an opportunity to explore the geological past of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at Cocklawburn Beach in the company of local geologist Dr Ian Kille.

This is one in a series of geodiversity walks run by Ian, of Northumbrian Earth, and one of a pair concentrating on the extraordinary geology of Cocklawburn Beach.

The walk will start at 10am, meeting at the car park to the south of the beach, next to the ice-cream van.

All are welcome and a donation will be requested to cover the costs of the walk.

The second Cocklawburn walk will be at 2pm on Monday, August 20. This will be a fossil-hunting trip.
