The idea behind this event was to bring two rural leagues both affiliated to the Northumberland FA together for the first time in order to give all teams new opposition as both leagues have limited teams within them.

This Glendale / Tynedale Tournament for U7s and U8s teams was split into two Trophy events - The Tweed Trophy and the Coquet Trophy and trophies and medals were supplied by SportsWorld of Alnwick.

A total of 24 teams originally entered and teams from Throckley Magpies Juniors, Wark Juniors, Kingston Park, Hexham, Prudhoe YCFC and Stocksfield (Tynedale) were joined by teams from Alnwick, Longhoughton, Longhorsely, Felton, Rothbury, Seahouses, Berwick, Glendale and Wooler (Glendale).
