Leading insurance broker is extending its rural provision

One of the UK's largest independent rural insurance brokers has announced the opening of its first Scottish office.

H&H Insurance Brokers (HHIB) has set up the office in Newtown St Boswells.

Based within St Boswells’ auction mart, the expansion has come about as a direct result of the company’s business and geographical growth, both in the agricultural and rural sectors across the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland.

Managing director John Noone said: “The opening of our St Boswells’ office is a key milestone for HHIB and for our extensive base of customers.

“Insurance is, after all, a people business and at H&H we pride ourselves on giving both a personal and professional service, whether that’s at the initial enquiry stage, during the policy term, renewal, or in the event of a claim.

“By having a dedicated Scottish Borders office we are ensuring that our support is readily and easily accessible.

“Although, of course, we will still visit our clients on their farms.”

The St Boswells office will be headed up by Gemma Rawlinson, HHIB’s Scottish Borders and North area executive, who will be supported by sales manager Philip Pagin and full-time account handler Suzanne Whittaker.

“With sales held at least twice a week, St Boswells’ auction mart is the perfect platform to provide an extensive centre for the needs of all rural businesses, and this includes insurance,” said Gemma.

“On livestock sale days we will be holding regular drop-in sessions to carry out insurance reviews.”
