A new north Northumberland group of the National Autistic Society was launched last week.
The branch covers the whole of north Northumberland and aims to support families living with autism.
The launch event took place in the Bell View Resource Centre in Belford, where a support group is set to meet on the second Wednesday of the month with the first taking place on Wednesday, May 11, from 9.30am to 11.30am.
There are around 700,000 people in the UK living with autism – that’s more than one in 100. If you include their families, autism touches the lives of 2.8 million people every day.
