A FINAL call has been made for people to take part in a scary scene competition – with cash prizes up for grabs – as the closing date for entries is tomorrow.
The first Annual Alnwick Hallowe’en Festival takes place from Friday, October 28 to Monday, October 31, and as part of the event, the community is being urged to create Hallowe’en-themed scenes in their gardens, homes, schools or any other premises around the town.
The winning creation will scoop £300, while £200 and £100 will go to second and third places respectively.
Judging takes place on the event’s opening day, so all scenes must be ready for then and be on show throughout the festival. The winner and runners-up will be announced on Hallowe’en itself.
Entry forms are £2 and can be obtained from the festival’s webpage or from Alnwick Tourist Information Centre (TIC), and must be returned to the TIC no later than lunchtime tomorrow. A map showing the location of the scenes will be made available before the first evening.
Other activities during the festival include ghost walks, a Hallowe’en Craft Fair and more.
