A NORTH Northumberland teenager is preparing to head off to the Great Wall of China on a charity expedition.
Katherine Taylor, from Alwinton, will spend two weeks in the country from Wednesday, June 22, trekking along the wall and helping out on the projects along the way.
The expedition is for Childreach International and on Saturday, April 16, the 19-year-old spent the day in Morpeth town centre collecting money with her parents and brothers, raising £368 in the process.
Katherine, currently in the first year of a medical degree at Nottingham University, said: “I’m really looking forward to it.
“I have always wanted to go to China so it’s a really good opportunity and a chance to do some good as well.”
Childreach International work worldwide in partnership with local communities in the developing world to help improve children’s access to healthcare, education, child rights and protection.
