June Watson went down under to strengthen links between Warkworth and its twin town in New Zealand.
As secretary of Warkworth and Amble District Royal British Legion, she was invited to have a tour of the RSA (Returned Services Association) branch in Warkworth, New Zealand, and was presented with an RSA honorary platinum membership card.
Her Royal British Legion branch will now exchange newsletters with Warkworth RSA to keep in touch and to share research and ideas.
She also attended Sunday service at the Anglican church in Warkworth.
On behalf of Warkworth Parish Council, June presented a copy of the Magna Carta document to Warkworth Museum to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the signing.
She also presented photos of Warkworth Castle and the houses where John Anderson Brown, who founded the New Zealand town of Warkworth, lived.
The high school and the primary school in the twin town are very keen to develop a relationship with Warkworth C of E First School and James Calvert Spence College, Amble.
