Joseph goes on trial at Hibs' academy
A Northumberland schoolboy has been given the chance to further his football career after being offered a trial with Scottish Professional Football League club Hibernian.
Joseph Close, left, an under-10 player for Alan Ainslie’s Lowick Vipers in the Glendale League, was spotted by a Hibernian scout.
He then asked Lowick’s head of youth developmen, Bill Blyth, if the club would be prepared to let them approach young Joseph to see if he’d like to join their academy on a trial basis.

Hide AdBlyth naturally gave Hibernian their blessing, and Joseph has been attending regular training sessions in Edinburgh, with the emphasis on specialised goalkeeper coaching.
He is also pictured right being put through his paces with fellow trainees.
