Jobs boost as £4.5m inn nears its completion

The Commissioners Quay Inn, with four floors, 40 bedrooms and large bar and dining areas, is initially looking to fill the key roles of head chef, head housekeeper and assistant managers.

Further full and part-time positions will also be created for front-of-house, bar, housekeeping, maintenance and kitchen staff.

The inn, which is being built by Arch, The Northumberland Development Company, is the latest addition to The Inn Collection Group, which runs three other sites in Northumberland – The Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses, The Lindisfarne Inn at Beal and The Hog’s Head Inn at Alnwick.

The Seaton Lane Inn near Sunderland, The King’s Head Inn at Newton under Roseberry and the newly acquired The Kingslodge Inn in Durham – the group’s first city-centre site – complete its portfolio. The Group is the biggest private room-provider in the county.

Chief executive, Keith Liddell, said: “The Commissioners Quay Inn will be the perfect place to watch the Tall Ships when they arrive in Blyth. Our new inn is in a fantastic position at the heart of the redevelopment of the quayside area. We’re excited to be boosting Blyth’s economy.
