AS the news that Jessie J is performing at Alnwick Pastures in July hit the streets, reporter Helen Millichamp spoke to ticket-buyers at the Alnwick Playhouse to get their views.

LISA Protheroe, 43, from Eshott, is going to the event with her family.

“We are all thrilled about it. It is great that she is coming and the Pastures has proved to be a really good outdoor venue. We are going as a family and my girls absolutely love her.”

MARY Mole, 22, from Alnwick is going to the concert with friends.

“I think it is great. It’s something worth going to. Everyone I know is going to it.

“If you live in Alnwick you have to go, nothing else happens in the town.”

DIANE Latto, 47 from Amble.

“I think it’s a really good that she’s coming and it’s nice to get some bigger stars performing here.

“I think it will be a great atmosphere and it’ll be the first time I’ll have gone to a Pastures concert.”

PAULA Oman, 46, from Hadston.

“I’m not the biggest fan of her music but I came last year for Status Quo and the atmosphere was just brilliant.

“It’s the whole experience, it’s great and it’s on my doorstep.”

HANNAH Amaira, 24, from Alnwick and her friends will also be there.

“It’s more for young people and it’s much better than Status Quo and Jools Holland, it’s a bit more upbeat. I’ve been every year and the atmosphere is great, everyone just has a bit of fun.”
