Residents of Abbeyfield House in Alnwick got into the spirit of British Pie Week by tucking into some classic British favourites last week.

Sometimes on a really cold day, all you want to do is tuck into a lovely hot meal to warm up and pies seem a staple choice of food. Even if you’re not a savoury pie lover, British Pie Week, held every March since 2007, celebrates as many different flavours of the humble pie as possible.

Whatever your favourite filling is, it’s fair to say that Britain is a nation of pie lovers, and the Abbeyfield House residents are no exception.

Across the week, the residents sampled a wide variety of savoury and sweet pies made in house. It is very proud of the quality and variety of food it can offer our residents with cooks, kitchen assistants, hospitality and cleaning staff dedicated to providing a balanced, nutritious and appetising menu.
