A NEW partner has been appointed at a north Northumberland GP surgery.
Dr Charles Dean and all the staff are delighted that Dr Monica Jamieson has been appointed as a partner at the Glendale Surgery in Wooler.
“Steadily increasing numbers of patients, together with a determination to improve patient choice, treatment opportunities and care offered by our practice, have made this a delightful necessity,” said Dr Dean.
Dr Jamieson, who has been working at the surgery for two years as an associate GP, is already a valued member of the Primary Health Care Team.
However her appointment as a partner now allows for improvements in continuity of care, patient choice and forward planning.
Dr Jamieson said: “I’ve really enjoyed working in Wooler over the past two years within such a close-knit community and very much look forward to continuing my work as part of the thriving team at Glendale.”
Despite bringing to an end a period of 50 years of the surgery being a single-handed practice, Dr Dean is excited to be able to bring about this change which he sees as an enhancement for both the present and future of Glendale Surgery.
