Isos funding boost for youth clubhouse facilities

The talented players at Alnwick Town AFC have been working hard alongside sponsors and supporters to raise funds for a new youth clubhouse at their St JamesPark ground.

Now Isos Housing, the people behind the new Weavers’ Court Extra Care development, close to Alnwick’s St James Park ground on Weavers Way, have made a £2,000 donation to the club’s plans.

Alnwick Town FC is one of the oldest football clubs in England, and has produced many successful players over the decades. Today, it is well known for its 17 thriving youth teams for both boys and girls, and for developing young players who have gone on to play representative football regionally and nationally. Current England international Lucy Bronze started her career at Alnwick Town, and remains an ambassador for the club.

Lewis Rimington, of Isos Housing, said: “Everywhere we build a new development, Isos always makes a point of getting involved in the local community. Here in Alnwick, the football ground is just a few hundred yards from our new Weavers’ Court development, so it’s important for us to meet the neighbours and see how we can support one another.”

Cyril Cox, secretary of Alnwick Town FC, said: “Alnwick Town AFC is a communitydriven football club and Isos is a community driven company, so it is a logical partnership, being close neighbours.”
