Mivesi, on Market Street, will be serving up a range of dishes, with a focus on authentic Bangladeshi fare.

The new bistro is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and replaces the English Café.

The all-day breakfast and lunch menu contains freshly-prepared traditional delights, ranging from lightly-spiced onion, tomato and coriander-stuffed omelettes to cheesy chicken-tikka wraps and chicken Khati kebab rolls.

There are also plenty of classic side dishes from which to choose, such as samosas, spicy chips and Tandoori roti.

To satisfy those with a sweet palette, there is a selection of freshly-made spice-infused cakes and scones made by The Running Fox at Felton.

Amina Begum, who runs the restaurant with husband Roy Uddin, said: “We have carefully developed new and tasty lunch snacks and wraps to set your taste buds alive.

“From the moment you arrive in the new bistro, your senses will be greeted with the fragrant smell of hand-selected spices that I have transported from my home country and packaged into Mivesi Spice Jars.

“The new bistro menu carefully incorporates all of these warm and aromatic spices into its new range of dishes so you can experience first-hand food from the heartlands of Bangladesh.”

For every customer who writes a review about their experience at the new bistro on Mivesi’s Facebook page, Roy and Amina will offer a £5 gift voucher which can be redeemed in their evening restaurant as a thank-you.

The evening dining option, serving Indian and English food, is available from 5.30pm to 11pm, seven-days-a-week.

Amina is also selling her own spice range, known as Mivesi Spices.

The jars are made up of authentic Asian spice infusions and are available in jalfrezi, murrubbha, bhuna, malay, methi or farrash flavours.
