In memory of those that couldn't stay
Northumberlandia was lit up with candles and lanterns on Sunday by 200 bereaved families from Northumberland and North Tyneside.
The fully-booked event was organised by the support group Teardrop as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week. Across the world, at 7pm local time, people lit a candle for one hour in memory of all those babies that couldn’t stay.
Among the families at the event were Dawn and Keith Tait, whose daughter Roseanne was stillborn.
They feel that rural north Northumberland could be better served by its own support group and, following specialist training, will be looking to establish a regular group in Alnwick.
