The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) held its first Christmas Craft and Gift Fair at the new Doxford Barns.
Around 380 members of the public supported the event, and entry fee included a cup of tea and biscuits. Mulled wine and mince pies were also available.
Committee chairman Stoker Frater said: “We had a tremendous day with loads of support.
We raised around £1,400, which will go towards farmers, farm workers and their dependants, who find themselves in financial difficulties.
The money will go towards the £50,000 paid out in Northumberland last year.
It is especially important this year with poor prices, poor weather and delays in support payments.”
The committee thanked all at Doxford for their support as well as help from stallholders and the public.
