A NORTH Northumberland school has bucked the national trend with an impressive set of SATS results.
At Rock Hall School, 100 per cent of the Year 6 pupils reached the required Level 4 in both Maths and English in the national exams and 62 per cent of those results were at Level 5.
Last year, the national average was 80 per cent and 32 per cent respectively although in English only 27 per cent of boys attained Level 5.
Co-principal Avril Lomas said: “With an all-boy entry this year, we were especially pleased to see that we have no gender gap in the school.
“All this and Peter Pan (a recent school performance) too! There is no doubt that good academic results need not preclude creative and adventurous education.”
