It may not be obvious due to the weather, but this weekend marks the start of August and the beginning of the lifeboat and harbour day season.
Kicking off this year’s calendar is Craster, whose Harbour Fête in support of the village’s RNLI takes place on Saturday afternoon at the harbour.
Starting at 2pm, there will be stalls, food and refreshments on sale, raffles and boat rides.
Two more events take place over the bank holiday weekend at the end of August.
First up is Amble Harbour Day, the town’s ‘biggest and best fund-raising day’, in aid of Amble RNLI, which takes place on Sunday, August 30, from 10am, and features stalls, lifeboat displays and souvenirs.
Then, on Monday, August 31, it’s the turn of Seahouses to host its annual event in aid of the RNLI, which will also have stalls, displays and souvenirs.
