Hundreds of pounds of items stolen after burglary at Tesco

Police are appealing for information after a thief broke into Amble’s Tesco Express store and stole around £550 of items.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “At around 7.05am on Friday, June 15, police received a report of a burglary at Tesco Express on Queen Street.

“Officers attended the scene where a shop window was found to have been damaged. It is believed that the offender gained entry by smashing the shop window and took items including alcohol and razors with a value of around £550. The offender then fled the scene.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what has happened and anyone with information should contact us by calling 101, quoting reference number 185 15/06/18.”
