Howick WI, May meeting

QUIZ NIGHT: The May meeting of Howick WI was held in the main part of the Copley Hall.

Nearly all of members were present to welcome visitors from neighbouring WIs. Rosemary Duns was quiz master and yet again she didn’t fail to disappoint.

Winnie welcomed everyone and Fiona swiftly got through all the business.

The only event that was of any interest was the Young at Heart Day at Willowburn Sports Centre.

There was also an announcement that St Mary’s Church in Belford are holding a flower festival over the weekend of May 28-30.

We also had final reminders about the Down Your Way walk.

Then it was over to Rosemary. The hall fell silent and everyone had pens at the ready.

We were in teams of four and first prize was wine so there was a lot to play for.

Fifty questions later and some teams looked more smug than others, nobody got 50 out of 50, but the winning team got 47.

One of our members, Joyce Stevens, was on that winning team and they were all thrilled with their prize. Everyone had a great night.

The raffle was a great success.

This month’s competition winner was Theresa with her money box. Anne T was second and Eileen third.
