MAKING PLANS: January is traditionally our programme meeting and is always held in one of our members’ houses, the last blast before the post-Christmas diets start.
We sat down to yet again some lovely food, with wine. We are a very jolly lot in Howick.
Janette played hostess and what a noisy lot we turned out to be.
There were 13 of us and we brought a lot of ideas for the forthcoming year.
We have a good mix of off-site visits, slide shows, a quiz, hands-on practical nights and a musical evening for later in the year.
Our programme secretary Winnie said she would have no problem filling in any spare months, so this looks like it will be another good year.
We also managed to decide on our venue for our summer outing.
Fiona, our secretary, reported that there wasn’t a lot of business to attend to however, the wine was starting to have an effect and Rosemary, Anne Thorndyke and Suzanne were persuaded to enter the reading allowed competition in March. What have we let ourselves in for?
There was also a lot of interest for the circle dancing to be held in Shilbottle.
After we read the Northumbrian we had a good natter about the weather and what kind of Christmas we all had, before we braved the cold weather to go home.
