HOUSING: Homes were there earlier
I write with reference to James Mathewson's letter about council housing in Alnwick, (Northumberland Gazette, September 21).
May I respectfully point out that the houses in St George’s Crescent were built in 1924, not by the Attlee Government as he stated.
My family were tenants there from 1931 to 1984.
