Emergency services have been called to a house fire in a north Northumberland town this morning.
Police, fire and rescue and ambulance crews have attended the incident at Amble, after a call was received at 9.22am.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said that the blaze started on the veranda of the premises and the occupants were uninjured but being treated for shock.
A Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told the Gazette that three appliances - one from Amble and two from Alnwick - had been called to the incident.
Update (1.25pm): A Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman has said that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
