Homes proposals before committee

Bids for two small-scale housing developments in north Northumberland villages look set to get the green light tomorrow.

An outline bid by the Northumberland Estates for nine dwellings on land to the south of Hillside Road West in Rothbury and a scheme to replace the indoor riding arena at Swarland Equestrian Centre with 15 homes are both recommended for approval at next week’s meeting of the council’s planning committee.

Plus, Separate outline bids for new homes in the grounds of Linden Hall Hotel, near Longhorsley, are recommended for refusal at the meeting.

Members will discuss an application for 10 executive houses on land east of Linden Cottages and the replacement of Dormy House with three homes.
