Plans to turn derelict buildings at the Tankerville Arms Hotel in Wooler into holiday lets have been lodged.
The buildings have generally been unused for the past 12 years.
At one time, they were used as a garage, for storage, staff accommodation and a workshop.
Hotel owner Anne Park says they are now at the stage where they are uneconomical to repair.
A report accompanying the planning application to the county council states: “Rather than allow the buildings to deteriorate further and risk potential collapse, the owners of the Tankerville Arms Hotel are now seeking to bring the buildings back into use by forming six self-contained holiday letting units which will be operated in tandem with the main hotel business.”
