A NEW holiday accommodation complex could be on the cards for Alnmouth if plans are approved.
Northumberland Estates has submitted proposals to demolish the former Amble Boys’ Club on Foxton Road to change the use of the site to create 10 holiday homes, 15 car parking spaces and communal gardens.
But the village’s parish council has objected to the plans saying that the village has more need for affordable housing than for further holiday accommodation.
It adds that the parish council is determined to maintain a ‘viable permanent residential population’ in Alnmouth.
Planning officers at Northumberland County Council have recommended that the plans be approved by the north area planning committee next Thursday.
A list of 22 conditions will be attached if permission is granted.
