A public exhibition is being held in Bamburgh next week to raise awareness of highway improvements proposed for the village.

Road-safety measures are planned for each of the village approach roads in an effort to slow traffic speeds.

Work will be carried out in November alongside road resurfacing works, which is already due to take place on Links Road.

The exhibition, which takes place on Tuesday, between 2pm and 7pm, in Bamburgh Pavilion, will also display plans for improving the layout and number of spaces available in the council’s car park.

Additionally, views will be sought on conceptual designs for the village centre.

Over a number of years, various solutions have been put forward – such as removing the clutter of signs or road-markings to slow vehicles down in the village centre and measures to visually narrow the highway, dubbed psychological traffic calming – in a bid to help ease traffic and congestion issues.
