A CAMPAIGNER who is drumming up support to dual the A1 has been given advice by the Highways Agency.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, a Conservative spokeswoman, has met officials to find out what the campaign needs to do to make the best case for dualling the road between Morpeth and Felton and Belford and Berwick.
“We need to work out how the campaign can most constructively build the case,” she said.
“They were very supportive of getting the economic justifications for it which is what we are trying to do.
“We are continuously trying to get businesses to assess the economic impact of that bit of road.”
Anne-Marie will be meeting roads Minister Mike Penning to discuss the case for dualling.
