Pupils from Longhoughton First School enjoy their Christmas party at RAF Boulmer.

RAF Boulmer welcomed 101 children from Longhoughton First School and 30 from Barndale House School in Alnwick to two very special Christmas parties.

Arriving courtesy of the Defence Fire and Rescue fire engine, Santa made a special visit.

The youngsters tucked into jelly, ice cream and snacks, served by volunteers from across the station, and burned off their energy on the dance floor. Magician Mr Windbags provided some fun and the children also received a small Christmas gift from the station.

Station Commander Group Captain Mark Coleman said: “It is a real pleasure for myself and my staff to welcome the children to RAF Boulmer. I think the volunteers enjoy it as much as the children.”

The parties are funded from donations from Officers’ Mess and Sergeants’ Mess members at RAF Boulmer.
