Branton Community Primary School has become the first in Northumberland to become a Heritage School.
The school worked with Viki Angel, from Historic England, to complete a project based on learning about the local area and heritage.
The pupils enjoyed their research and are now very knowledgeable about the local area in the past.
The children shared their findings with the local community and really impressed everyone with their knowledge.
The Heritage School programme aims to help children in schools learn about their heritage and its significance.
They learn research techniques that helps them build a greater knowledge and understanding of their local area at different periods in the past.
Viki came into school to present the Heritage School award, which will be displayed with pride.
