Helping to raise more cash

A family fun day is to take place next month to raise funds for the Stephen Carey Fund.

It is being held at the Alnmouth FC pitch near Hipsburn First School on Saturday, August 3.

The day, starting at noon, will be family-friendly during the afternoon. There will be an evening event for adults featuring a bar, live music and a hog roast. Earlier on, there will be a children’s funfair, face painting, five-a-side football and stalls. All stallholders are asked to make a donation to the fund.

Entry is free. There will be a raffle. If any local businesses are able to donate prizes, contact Helena on 07725 464589.

○ A fund-raising event in Shilbottle at the end of June raised £740. There was a young’uns against old’uns football match organised by the fund committee in association with Shilbottle CW before local bands The Distorted and NE66 played at The Farriers Arms.

The money is to split between the fund and Aidan Jackowiak Smith, from Shilbottle.
