Helping to fill village planters

At a community event in Lesbury, organised by the village's Dementia Action Group, people helped to plant up the three planters in front of the village hall.

The planters were funded by a grant from Awards for All, made to the parish council on behalf of the Dementia Action Group, which is working towards making the village a dementia-friendly community.

The planters are a partnership project with Lesbury in Bloom, who will manage and maintain them. They are mainly planted up with herbs, both for their sensory qualities and to provide a useful resource for the community, who are welcome to pick the herbs.

The event coincided with the group’s monthly Saturday-afternoon-together session, an informal drop-in for coffee, cake and chat for people of all ages.
