They give advice and training on issues such as finance, licensing, health and safety, energy efficiency and inspiration for new initiatives. Village halls can call on CAN at any time for advice and practical support.

Louise Currie, from CAN, who attended the event, said: “I was absolutely delighted to hear that the trustees of Ellingham Village Hall planned to hold a coffee morning to raise funds for the village hall work undertaken by us.

“Like many village halls in the county, I have offered support to trustees, as and when needed over the last few years and this was a wonderful way to support us.

“The coffee morning was a fantastic effort and offered the opportunity for me to meet members of the community. It was a lovely atmosphere – clearly local people really value the chance to catch up with friends and neighbours over a cup of coffee. It a most generous gesture to offer the money that was raised to help us to continue the bespoke guidance we offer to halls.”
