POLICE are appealing for information after a charity box was stolen from a north Northumberland pub.
The box, raising funds for the RNLI, was taken from The Mason’s Arms in Rennington between Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8.
Thieves who took the box, which had around £60 in it, had to cut a metal chain attaching it to the bar where it was kept.
Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector Sue Peart said: “This is totally despicable. I am appealing to anyone who saw anything unusual during that time or anyone who saw anyone unusual in the area to get in touch.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
