Headliner announced for summer festival

A new act has been announced as the Friday night headliner for a weekend-long North Northumberland music festival this summer.

Indie-rock band British Sea Power will head the Friday night bill of the Lindisfarne Festival, which takes place at Beal Farm, from September 1 to 4.

The group are on the programme alongside acts Fatherson and international Let There Be House DJ Glen Horsborough, who will be joining the Saturday line-up.

North East act the Baghdaddies will also be playing, as well as the James Taylor Quartet, Chainska Brassika, Rob Heron and The Tea Pad Orchestra, Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, funk band King Bee, Social Room, Velvoir and Mudfoot Blaps.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the festival promises to be even bigger and better, while still retaining its independence, intimacy and fun atmosphere.

The first wave of acts, announced last month, include Reef, The Cuban Brothers, Beardyman, Little Comets, Molotov Jukebox, Mercury nominated C Duncan, world renowned and Northumberland-born Kathryn Tickwell and Superfolkus, Lisbon and Shields, among many more.

Tickets are available to buy at £85 for a weekend ticket and £50 for a Saturday ticket.
