A character from hit movie franchise Star Wars will make a special appearance in a Northumberland town tomorrow, to help raise money for a dog charity.
The stormtrooper will be arriving in Alnwick, as part of the town's Christmas Fair this weekend. The iconic character, complete with distinctive white battle armour, will be in the town from around 11am to 4pm.
The soldier of the Galactic Empire will be appearing in Alnwick to help raise money for Northumberland-based charity Shak, which is a sanctuary for abused, mistreated and neglected dogs. The stormtrooper will either be in the Market Place or the Northumberland Hall, depending on the weather. People can have their photograph with the stormtrooper and each picture will cost £1, with the money donated to Shak.
The Christmas Fair is being held tomorrow and Sunday and coincides with the town's efforts to take part in Small Business Saturday tomorrow.
Due to the bad weather which is forecast this weekend, no stalls will be put up in the Market Place during the fair tomorrow, but there will be stalls in the Northumberland Hall, as well as other activities, such as a visit from Santa Claus. Organisers have said that Sunday will currently still go ahead as planned, with stalls in the Market Place.
