Harrow and Rangers up for the cup with wins in NNL Finals
RUNCIMAN CUP FINAL
Tweedmouth hHarrow 5
Experience was the telling factor as Harrow took the trophy at the end of the match, which was played at Shielfield Park .
Looking stronger throughout, goals from Jordan Richardson (2) , Callum Ferguson, Craig Anderson and Kris Neil saw them beat a gallant Wooler side who had Kyle Jeffrey and Sam Cowens as their two goalscorers .
SANDERSON CUP FINAL
Tweedmouth Rangers 2
Alnwick Town Res 1
It needed extra time before Tweedmouth emerged as winners of a well contested game at St James’ Park.
In normal time, Tweedmouth through Luke Dickson and Alnwick through Colin Bickerton had seen the teams level after 90 minutes.
The first period of extra time failed to produce a goal and with a penalty shoot out looming it was Peter McAskill who snatched the winning goal for Tweedmouth .
Red Row Welfare 5
Red Row took another step towards a possible championship as they beat Lowick.
Two goals ahead at half time through Max Anderson and Josh Baston, Red Row continued to press forward and netted three more after the break, thanks to a second apiece from Anderson and Baston plus a goal by Darren Smith, while Lowick netted twice through Andy Metcalfe and Kris Dixon .
Highfields United 1
Embleton WR 5
Embleton kept up their challenge with a comfortable victory at Berwick.
Three goals up at half time they continued to dominate after the break and added two more before the final whistle with Grant Sharp scoring a consolation goal for Highfields .
On target for Embleton were Lee and Jordan Turnbull, Chris Chisholm, Phil Grey and Jake Wilkin.
Spittal Rovers 2
The previous night’s efforts in the Runciman Cup Final proved too much for the home side as they lost out to title challengers Spittal, who move up to second place following this win.
Wooler led at half time through a Kyle Jeffrey goal but as they tired after the interval Spittal hit back to take the points with goals from Andrew Patterson and Stuart Bertram .
