A WORLD-CLASS Italian guitar duo will be performing throughout Northumberland, as part of their UK Tour.

Dos will appear in Alnmouth, North Broomhill and Morpeth during a series of county-wide shows in April.

Originating from northern Italy, Luca Allievi and Allessandro Brizio play a mixture of gypsy, hot club, swing and jazz standards as well as their own arrangements of contemporary covers.

In their homeland, they are seen as the premier guitar players of their generation and have performed in concert halls and festivals all over Europe.

They will be joined by Angie and Robert Turnbull, who have organised the tour after meeting the overseas duo while performing in France.

The shows are at Morpeth’s Marabinis Restaurant, next Thursday, at 8pm, and The Red Lion, Alnmouth, on Saturday, April 7, at 9pm, while on Sunday, April 8, there will be a performance at La Bodega, in Morpeth, at 2pm, and at The Trap, North Broomhill, at 8pm.

Sessions also take place at The Elephant, in Ashington, on Wednesday (8pm), The Flying Horse, in Blyth, on Friday, April 6 (9pm), and Ashington’s Bubbles Wine Bar, on Monday, April 9 (6pm).

Performances are free, except for The Elephant, which is £5 but also features Elaine Binney and the Jazz Rascals.
