Guesthouse plans for old police station
An application to convert Wooler's former police station into a guesthouse has been lodged with Northumberland County Council.
The scheme for 17 Church Street, submitted on behalf of Mr and Mrs Connelly, will only require ‘slight alterations’ to achieve the changes needed to provide bed and breakfast rooms plus owners’ accommodation.
In addition, the applicants also wanted to create a space that could be used to host a yearly Silent Santa – a week-long period before Christmas where special-needs children and their families can book to see Santa in a safe and secure way.
